Head Chef – British Virgin Islands, Eastern Caribbean


BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS / Cooper Island Beach Club

We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join a busy kitchen at our island eco-resort in Oct 2013.

Candidates must have a recognized culinary education and a minimum of 2 years experience managing a fast-paced kitchen. This is a hands-on role, with responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day food preparation, menu planning, supervision and training of staff, catering for special events, Ordering and Inventory control, upholding Health, Safety & Hygiene policies, and liaison with FOH management & staff.

As we are located on a virtually uninhabited island, you must have the ability to live in close quarters and thrive on working & socializing within a small team environment. Applicants must be able to speak, read & write business-English and previous experience in the Caribbean or remote locations with limited amenities will be a distinct advantage.

Work-week will include split shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Staff accommodation and all meals will be provided on-island. Salary will vary depending on experience and package includes share of resort service charge, gratuities and year-end bonuses.

Work permit applications require a current, clean medical and clean police clearance certificate.
