CHINA / Shanghai Call Center
The Shanghai Call Center, conveniently located in the Shanghai city center, is a nonprofit oriented hotline established by the Shanghai government in 2006. The hotline provides expatriates with a free 24 hour information and translation service portal. We are currently looking for an agent to join us full-time.
You’ll be joining a young and dynamic team of bright interpreters who are passionate about language and culture. You’ll find yourself working in a multicultural environment as you’ll be communicating with people from all over the world on a daily basis. The company will give you the opportunity to learn and grow, and will provide you with weekly language classes (English, Spanish, French etc.), as well as field trips to learn about Shanghai and to discover the expat hotspots.
Job Description
1. Answer questions from callers about Shanghai according to the database;
2. Provide over-the-phone interpretation service between Mandarin, English and any other third language (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, Arabic, Swedish, Finnish, etc.);
3. Meet customer requirements in a positive and professional manner
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree from any discipline (preferably in Language & Arts)
• Basic computer knowledge
• Responsible, with a nice and pleasant personality
• English: fluent conversational skills
• Chinese: medium to high-level in conversation and reading
• Any third language: fluent conversational skills (eg. French, Spanish, German, Russian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, etc.)
