MOZAMBIQUE THAILAND BELIZE / Kaya Responsible Travel
With Kaya Responsible Travel you have the opportunity to volunteer abroad, learn a language abroad, gain valuable work experience overseas, take a gap year or become TEFL qualified. Kaya has over 200 volunteer projects and courses in 24 countries in a great choice of locations, fields of interest and types of work.
We work with NGOs, local charities and communities who need the extra help of on the ground volunteers. Kaya’s experienced projects advisors work to match volunteers to the right projects by finding out what skills they can bring to the project and where we can best use them. This way the communities volunteers work with can develop the best range of skills possible, in order to create a more sustainable way of life, whilst volunteers gain new experiences and build their CV’s.
Some of our most popular and successful projects are our marine conservation placements where volunteers can receive diving instruction and their PADI certificates while volunteering. We offer this in three locations:
Belize:
We have two options for projects in Belize. We have a 4 week internship that takes you through diving skills, methodologies and data techniques, wrapped up in week 4 with a party and award ceremony. Alternatively a project focusing on Lion fish needs help with research and underwater photography.
Thailand:
A community lead project in Koh Tao offers PADI training in a well renowned project, and asks for volunteers help with the following roles; identifying species, monitoring the reefs, underwater clean-ups, and reef restoration. Diving tuition and PADI certification are included.
Mozambique:
This project involves whale shark and manta ray conservation. Volunteers can get involved with research and monitoring of this endangered species. You will stay in a beach front volunteer house, with local bars and entertainment nearby.
