Stuck? Start Here
So you want to work abroad but don’t know where to start, or even who we are and how we can help?
JAB is put together by two backpackers that themselves work their way around the world. We fund our travels working online but we also save money by working with hostels or volunteering.
Over the years we have helped thousands of people follow their dreams and work abroad. Some of the jobs we have helped our readers to find have been marvellous experiences in themselves, while others have been a bit crap but they paid for food, accommodation and onward tickets.
When we are on the move we often meet people who could use a helping hand, and when not travelling we spend a lot of time online trying to find useful ideas and suggestions that we can pass on to you. However we find what we find the result is the Jobs Abroad Bulletin.
Real Vacancies Abroad
The main part of the Jobs Abroad Bulletin is our Latest Jobs pages, the place we put all the current vacancies sent to us by employers. We accept that not everyone advertises their vacancies with us, but instead of being sore about it we also share vacancies we find on other websites. We mark these as JobSpy.
We also frequently get sent CVs or are asked for a job by people who think we are an agency of some sort. We’re not, but rather than not be able to help we are collecting larger employers and helpful organisations in the Overseas Job Centre, particularly those that can help you find work abroad now.
Articles & Links
For more information on working abroad, we have a selection of Work and Volunteer Abroad articles. Topics covered include Tourism, Catering & Hospitality, Ski Resort Jobs, Teaching English, Au Pair & Nannying, Summer Camps, Other Work, Volunteering and Location Independence. Each category is backed up by our massive directory of Working Abroad Links. For travel articles The Working Traveller blog mixes up our own travel experiences and photos with ideas, news, tips and features for working and travelling abroad.
We are growing our Free (or Cheap) Volunteer Work Abroad section into a resource for grassroots NGOs and volunteer projects to find a helping hand and for travellers to locate inexpensive options to offer their skills and muscle without suffering a financial penalty for doing so. This is our first Mini Site (FVWA was formally a website in its own right) and we hope to add more in the future.
We have recently updated our site design and are currently updating all our working abroad articles and weeding out dud links from the directory. Once we have that, and perhaps another few tasks, out of the way we hope to relaunch our newsletter and write some ebooks.
