Free (or Cheap) Volunteer Work in Slovakia
Hostel Work Exchanges
Many hostels use help exchange networks (see below) to find volunteer staff but the following either advertise on their websites or are particularly noted for taking on volunteers:
This Bratislava hostel, in the old town on the second floor of a 200 years old historical building, occasionally puts out a call for volunteers via their Facebook page and also mention their volunteers are backpackers on their website. They have a sister hostel, Urban Elephants, too.
More Hostel Work Exchanges
In Nitra, a city in western Slovakia, there’s another hostel to consider looking for volunteer work, the obviously yet still superbly named Nitra Glycerin Hostel. No relevant information is found on their website but here’s their Worldpackers profile.
Other Opportunities to Volunteer in Slovakia
The English language information on the website of INEX works worse than before so we’ve downgraded them from a full listing. Providing they still do what we thought they did in the past, they organise international summer workcamps throughout Slovakia, from castle renovations to organising activities and games for children at a kids camp. Reasonable fees cover food and accommodation expenses. Joining in requires going through sending organisations in your home country.
