Bharati of Art & Culture which was established by Rabindra
Nath Trgore. International students are studying here from
various countries. Santiniketan is also the birth place of Nobel

There are more than 700 hundred Santhal Tribe and 170
families live in village North Sehalli. There is no electricity, no
sanitation not even one toilet, no land, no school to learn
English and art... they are loosing now their primitive culture.
Now we are starting a school from February 2007. The
building work is going on. We need interns to gain experience
and help to work for Santhal Community.

We will provide accommodation and food. We will provide
beautiful studio apartment with frieze, hot water, Air-
conditioning, Television, DVD and one maid for cooking and
cleaning rooms, linens, cloths. We will provide English
breakfast or Indian and mouth watering Indian lunch and
dinner. We also provide a moped(light motor bike) for transport
for project work.

The working time is Monday to Friday 2pm to 5pm in the

Development in Action is recruiting two India Volunteer
Coordinators to be in India for six months from June 2007. If
you’re looking to further your experience of working with
NGOs, at the same time as seeing India, this could be the

The two IVCs will work together to provide on-the-ground
support for DiA’s volunteer placement scheme in India. They
will be responsible for supporting two sets of volunteers,
maintaining good communication between India and the UK,
building on DiA’s relationship with our Indian partners, and
completing assessments and research assignments. The post
will involve a considerable amount of travel between
placements.

This post is most suitable for a young person with some
previous work experience. You must be self-motivated and
enthusiastic, and fully committed to DiA’s objectives. You
should be committed to volunteerism and be prepared to take
on the duties of the post with good-humour and flexibility.

A stipend will be paid to cover expenses whilst in India and

Development in Action

2 and 5 month volunteer placements in India: Development in
Action. Self-funded volunteers are required for placements in
India, to get hands-on experience of grass roots development:
teaching on non-formal and formal education projects;
research, administrative and office work; working with women’s
income generation schemes and with deaf and blind children;
environmental work; and to help fulfil our partner organisations’
needs. Placements are for 2 or 5 months. Applications are
welcome from people of all disciplines with an interest and
enthusiasm for development issues, cultural exchange and
development education.

Ebusua Aid Ghana

Ebusua Aid Ghana is non-government organization based in
Ghana. It is a membership based organization dedicated to
promoting sustainability in development. Ebusua Aid Ghana`s
aim is to provide education for street children, not only in the
usual school subject, but also in any skills that they might need
in order to start living self sufficiently. We are therefore fighting
to help alleviate poverty, hunger, illiteracy, and unemployment.

Our main aim is to remove poverty and illiteracy from the
World through cultural exchange, environmental conservation
and peace. we offer volunteer work programs in conjuction
with Ghana and Togo based institutions, groups and other
non-governmental organisations.

Ebusua Aid Ghana is inviting volunteers from all over the
world, particularly those who have the desire to make a
difference in peoples lives to participate in our programs in
Ghana. You would have the opportunity to experience the
Ghanaian culture, the friendly nature of the people, the way of
life of the people, the countryside and the Urban areas. You
are going to enjoy your stay in Ghana and will always love to
come back.

Voluntary Work program:
We offer volunteer work programs in Ghana which includes
community developments, teaching children English language
and mathematics , caring for children in foster homes and
orphanages and also in schools ,Work with mentally
handicapped children, educating street children on dangers of
drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, HIV/Aids and helping to give
free basic education. Assisting midwives, obstetricians,
nurses, Assisting orthopedics doctors and any other position in
hospitals both in rural and urban areas.

Teaching in schools
starts from January -April, June- August and September –
middle of December and they can participate in most of the
programs all year round. Cost for joining volunteer program is
500 USD. Payment goes in to their airport pickup,
accommodation, food, administrative expenses, One Year
Residency Permit and projects of the AID.

Interested participants, who would like to participate in any of
our programs should request and complete an application
form. After we have received the completed application form
they will hear from us about their participation.
