JAB IN TURKEY

Hello, we’ve been thinking of ending this introduction that we
started when we began after our house hunting travels a year
and a half ago.

We have barely budged an inch since we bought an apartment
in Turkey in December and only kept the intro going to
complete the often promised working in Turkey piece that we
finally finished last month.

It has been good to be settled for a while in Turkey but we are
beginning to get itchy feet again and want to see some of this
land that has become our home. So next month we hope to be
off to Istanbul to visit friends and enjoy a city I’ve always
wanted to see.

This means we may have something more interesting to say
than the usual news that we’ve been loafing by the sea, have
bought a new piece of furniture or that we still don’t have a
phone line and find it difficult to get much work done on the
site. By the way, we still don’t have a phone line and are
finding it difficult to get much work done on the site (though as
we were heading out to send this issue a telegraph pole has
appeared outside our building, so who knows maybe we will
be able to work on the next issue from home).

We did start though to update all our web pages, add new links
to the site and introduce a living abroad section, and after
three weeks of solid work the computer broke down. I did have
a back up on a pen drive but I broke that shortly before things
went wrong.

Thankfully the PC repair man managed to save all the work
and the only thing lost was all our emails except for job posts
which we had backed up elsewhere. So if you have sent us a
website URL in the past year I’m afraid it won’t appear on our
site.

with change over day and to clear snow.

You will clean and present the chalet to 4* hotel standard 6
days per week, you will liaise with guests and give support and
advice about lift passes, ski school and village events. You will

We are looking for a motivated intern who is willing to help us
start up a new branch of our travel business. You will be
researching/editing/creating/designing a new website.
Successful candidate needs to be computer savvy and be
willing to learn and experience Ireland. The site will be created
for us but we need to compile and enter the information on to
it. We provide free accommodation in one of the best locations
in Galway City, Ireland. The bonus of this internship is that you
will really enjoy it - you can chat to some of previous interns

Your duties would include the technical supervision and the

backend.

Requirements
You should be very good at PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS,
Ajax and HTML. English is required, Spanish and other
languages a plus. You’re used to working independently and
result driven.

The second programmer should be very good at Flash,
Actionscript and in of the current graphic-programmes like
Photoshop, Gimp, QuarkExpress. 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D
or Mya is a plus.

Task description
For our B2B platform Immopro24.com we are looking for
students and/or graduated students in journalism with main
focus in politics and/or economy for our Spanish/English
market. The tasks include: creation of planning topics,
research, formulation and implementation of interviews.

Main focus of the job
Plan the topics together with the management, research topics
and dialogue partners, carry out independent interviews, edit
processing of the interviews in German, correct with the
management of Immopro24 and if necessary with the interview
partner, post corrections, also compose an appropriate
network, recondition the information for the external partner.

Your profile
You stand out due to your strategic intellect, self-initiative,
solution thinking and creativity. You act decisively, with
organisation and consistency. You have sustainable
experience within the area of journalism, also experience of
MS Office applications and a good understanding of internet
technologies. Your native language is Spanish/English.

Who we are: We are a small, young, fast-growing architectural
design firm, located in a beautiful, sunny loft space on the
fourth floor of an arts and theater building in Manhattan. We
vary in number from 2 to 5 with the addition of a couple of
freelancers and collaborators who occasionally help out. In
contrast to a stuffy corporate office, you'll find our space
relaxed, friendly and informal, and fun to work in!

What we're looking for: Dedicated, motivated individuals with a
love of design looking for a hands on work experience with as
much responsibility as you can handle. Maturity and a high
level of motivation are important. International interns and
trainees are welcome. Previous practical experience in
building or making things (whether experience on architecture,
interiors, furniture or product design) is a plus, as are skills in
3D visualization. Position is currently listed as unpaid with the
possibility of compensation depending on skills and the mix of
projects in the office.

Start date: Immediate. Prefer four to six month term, minimum.
