to be filled, for volunteers to help us teach English and French
to our children in The English School, Perm, Russia. The
vacancies run from September 2005 for one semester or for
up to one academic year. Our school is innovative and bright,
overlooks the Kama River, and is situated in the relatively
dynamic city of Perm (Pop 1.1m) west of the Ural mountains,
with good communication links.

Positions still vacant are for volunteers. However,
accommodations and meals are provided, and you will be met
at the airport in Perm on arrival. Formal TEFL or ESL
qualifications are welcome but not essential. We look for an
open personality and a love of helping children with their
aspirations, as being more important. A short training
programme will be given on your arrival in Perm. Teachers will
teach about 30 hours a week with no classes at weekends.
There is a short holiday of 3-4 days at the beginning of each
month. Although almost all living costs are provided, a
generous local allowance will be given each month provided
work is to a satisfactory standard. You will be responsible for
your own air ticket if you stay for only one semester, but this
will be reimbursed if you agree to stay with us for the academic
year.

certify your attendance as an English language teacher for the
time you work with us in Perm.

Join the project as a Research Assistant volunteer!
For 3 week periods, you can work as Research Assistant
volunteers and take part in night patrols, flipper tagging, data
collection (egg counts, nest relocation), nest excavations and
so on.

Known as the Spice Isle because of its' high production of
nutmeg, Grenada is a small volcanic island, 21 miles by 12
with a population of 90,000. It has many beaches along its
indented coastline, lush rainforest in the interior and remains
one of the least spoilt of the Caribbean islands. It also plays
host to one of the major leatherback sea turtle nesting sites in
the Caribbean with hundreds of nests laid each year.

Research Assistant volunteers are needed to:
-Provide hands-on field experience with the world's largest sea
turtle.
-Directly help the reduction of illegal egg poaching activities.
-Contribute to the preservation of Grenada's turtles through
local educational events.
-Increase community participation.

Research Assistant volunteers work in teams of 6 and live in
the picturesque north east of the Island. The area is a
windswept piece of paradise, which boasts a number of
uninhabited offshore islands surrounded by coral reefs
teeming with life. During your free time, there is plenty of diving
and snorkelling to do, as well as rainforest trails and hot
springs to visit.

2006 Project Dates - 3 week projects:

the past few hundred years it's fallen down in places, and
needs patching up.

labour and a straight eye.
