Summer Volunteer India, programs you will be required to work for four to five hours. This means you have some time to spare, utilize this time effectively, and visit at least one site every day. Select the sites which are near the places where you work and stay. This will allow easy access and most conveniently on weekdays.
So after work, plan to visit a museum, sites in town or rural areas. While at it have someone by your side, it would not be advisable to visit some places while alone. You may not enjoy the trip or may miss some of the details which make these visits fun. You can have a guide with you or arrange with one of your colleagues to accompany you.
