Volunteer in Oman – Gap Year

OMAN / British Exploring Society

An epic journey into some of the wildest parts of Arabia. This exciting adventure will give you the chance to explore multiple terrains. Trek across the Empty Quarter and encounter the relatively unexplored Arabian Peninsula in all its fascinating forms.

Cross the colossal sand dunes, the canyons, oases, stunning mountain ranges, pastoral settlements, estuaries, woodlands and cloud forest and beautiful crystal clear waters and white sands of the coast.

Undertake important conservation and scientific projects on the way; above all the Arabian Leopard study. Help us to protect this magnificent creature, of which there are only 150 left in the wild.

Discover the fascinating city of Salalah, where you will mingle with the local people, their culture and the enchanting, ancient environment of the souks in the harbour market town. Here, you will present your findings to middle-school students in an educational seminar in Salalah.

Choose just four weeks or totally immerse yourself in the eight week expedition.

Document your expedition through photography, documentary film making and travel journalism! This module will give media enthusiasts an opportunity to gain experience in travel media skills.
