Teach English As A Foreign Language in Thailand

THAILAND / Original Volunteers

Original volunteers recruit people to work on small projects in underdeveloped countries. They have sent volunteers to different countries for over 14 years, mainly helping on conservation and education projects focused on improving community development.

The Thailand Programme

After the 2004 Tsunami hit it devastated the coastal region and inland. It destroyed homes and killed thousands. Greatly damaging the local economy.

An English teaching programme was started just a year after the Tsunami. Aiming to provide local children with an alternative career route in the recovering tourist industry.

The Role

Original volunteers are currently looking for a keen individual to help and assist the programme director, currently in Thailand, in the form of a team leader. The successful applicant will support volunteers on a day to day basis, after they have received their initial orientation and training. Team leaders visit each school twice a day, observing and offering positive encouragement to the volunteers.

The ideal candidate would have:

Two years EFL experience
At least 1 year living overseas (or substantial foreign language experience)
Experience in developing a curriculum
Clear police check
Positive and outgoing approach

Benefits

Successful applicants have the amazing opportunity to lead a group of keen volunteers.
Full and personalised training from the programme direction, who has over 15 years’ experience.
The ability to learn another language with free Thai lessons
Weekly stipend for meals
Free accommodation located close to the volunteer office and the schools.
