Itijah is a grassroots non-governmental organization working towards the empowerment of Palestinian youth in an entirely unique manner. Rather than focusing on individual projects, Itijah creates the space and the means through which young people can participate in various areas of activism, volunteerism and civil society. Our goal is to support young people as they contribute to Palestinian society in accordance with their own desires, talents and skills. We offer mentorship, networks, connections and a physical space for young people to come together to make their desired contributions a reality.

The Role:
We are a small but energetic and fast-moving team. We are looking for passionate and highly motivated team members to assist with External relations, partnerships and communications, and to help in the coordination of advocacy and policy activities.

Specifications:-

Essential:
Excellent research skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills (in English)
The ability to communicate to a variety of audiences in a variety of tones
Experience with grant writing
Experience with region appropriate donors- USAID, EU, UN, etc.
Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
Highly organized
A can-do and self sufficient attitude
Hard working and dedicated
Inspired by Itijah’s mission
Knowledge of the political, gender and youth context in Palestine especially east Jerusalem.

Desirable:
Arabic language skills (written and/or oral)
Familiarity with digital rights campaigning and youth empowerment.

About the role:
Though you can work off-site, you will be in close communication with members of Itijah’s core team and the partner organizations. Your role will include implementing communications and advocacy activities,
Maintain contact with key people/ who are essential for our successful outreach at events (press, key decision makers, partners)., reaching out to other local and international NGO’s and networks for information, mapping influential individuals, and help in the fundraising.
