Active Assistance provides the very best live in care for adults and children with high level physical disabilities, specialising in spinal cord injury and we are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our team of Personal Care Assistants (PA). As a PA you will work with our clients on a live-in basis for between 1 and 3 weeks at a time. Whilst you are working the client provides food and accommodation and we pay for your travel costs to and from each assignment. Previous experience of working with disabled adults and/or children is a definite advantage, however, we provide a comprehensive 5 day training course to prepare our PAs for working with our clients. The training course is free and during the training we also provide free accommodation.

To qualify to work with Active Assistance as a PA you must :- •Be over 21 years of age * •Hold a Driving Licence valid for driving in the UK •Be eligible to work in the UK either through your nationality or by holding a valid UK Work Permit/Visa •Have excellent English language skills •Ideally, be a non-smoker

Voluntary working visit
Tara Buddhist Centre
An opportunity to experience life at a Buddhist community. We offer working visit up to two weeks ie 35 hours in return for board and lodgings. Variety of work available from gardening, building, cooking, cafe etc. There is time to attend classes on meditation and to learn more about the Buddhist way of life.
You can apply to come on this volunteer working visit by visiting our website www.taracentre.org.uk, there is an application form under working visits.
The working visit entitles you to lodging in the dormitory in the main building, also known as Ashe Hall. Three meals a day are provided. Work starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm, with tea and lunch breaks.
There is no charge for this working visit. Work can be helping on reception, grounds, cafe, cooking in the kitchen, decorating, cleaning etc. The list is endless! Work is varied and depends upon what is going on at the time and where help is needed most. Volunteers get the chance to move around jobs to get an insight to a functioning Buddhist Centre.
The purpose of this voluntary visit is to enable people from any background or community to experience the life of a Buddhist Centre. Those apply need to be over 18 years. You can be fit and able or even less able and we will try to find a job that is suitable for you during your stay.
As all meals are provided and Tara Centre is set in the country there are no expenses apart from getting here.
