3-6 Months volunteer projects in Asia
VESL
VESL is currently recruiting volunteers to work in Asia on 3-6 month programmes - various start dates.
Want do do something different in your holidays?
Up for a challenge?
Want to have an experience you will never forget?
Want to make a real difference?
VESL is a UK charity (no 1117908) that provides unique, exciting, worthwhile and affordable volunteering opportunities in Sri Lankan, Indian and Thai communities. Each year VESL recruits volunteers to run a variety of different educational projects. Volunteers are placed together in small teams or with a partner. Volunteers can either work on 4/5 week placements in the summer or on longer projects around the year. We also send teams of trained teachers (PGCE, TEFL or equivilent) to run workshops for local teachers. All volunteers receive comprehensive back-up and support during their placement as well as a pre departure training course.
Our aim is to set up and run well-structured, well-supported and worthwhile placements for volunteers in the neediest Asian communities.
Experience of working with children and/or teaching would be helpful. However, enthusiasm, adaptability and sensitivity are the top attributes we will be looking for in any volunteer.
We would love to hear from you if you fancy taking up the challenge and working on a VESL placement.
